Meeting with Member (P), Postal Services Board

I met Member (P) with Sri.D.Theagarajan, S.G, FNPO, Sri.T.N.Rhate, G.S., P IV and Sri.P.S.Babu on 15th May 2008. The following problems were discussed :
1. Filling up of residuary vacancies in A.P.Circle - Agreed to issue further clarifications to the CPMG, A.P immediately. Secretary (P) also instructed CPMG, A.P in this regard when she met him on the 14th May'08. Secretary (P) also instructed the CPMG, A.P to invite all the Union leaders who have given strike notice from 21.5.08 and setlle all the issues.

2. Delay in promotion to HSG II cadre in Tamilnadu Circle -- We pointed out that the Circle is wantonly delaying to convene DPC and issue promotion orders to LSG officials who are eligible for promotion to HSG II cadre as per the departmental rules. Some irregularities were also pointed out in our letter and requested the department to take serious notice against the officers concerned for delay in convening the DPC citing the order of the DOPT on the subject.

Member (P) said that after calling for a report from the Circle, action will be taken in this regard.

3. Delay in promotion to HSG II cadre in A.P Circle :- We pointed out that in this Circle, LSG officials belonging to RMS cadre were promoted to HSG II, but in the Postal side this is delayed.

Member (P) said suitable instructions will be issued to the CPMG in this regard.

4. APM Accounts posting:- We again pointed out that the issue is still pending in the Directorate and urged to settle the same immediately. Member (P) said that the matter is still under discussion and a final decision will be taken early.

5. In fine, we urged the Member (P) the need for revision of LSG scale of pay since the sixth pay commission had not done the same. The Member (P) response was encouraging.
