Bonus Ceiling

The S.G., FNPO had sent telegrams on the 1st October 2008 to the Hon'ble Minister for Communications & I.T Shri. A.Raja, MoS Shri. Jyotidraj Scindia and Secretary (Posts) requesting them to remove the cap on bonus ceiling from Rs.2500 to Rs.3500/-. To day detailed letters were also sent to the above by fax.

The S.G., FNPO had already initiated action on this issue on 19.9.2008 and met the Secretary (Posts) and submitted a detailed a letter requesting to raise the bonus ceiling from Rs.2500 to Rs.3500/-.

Thanks for taking up the issue of Bonus ceiling with the Dept. and the members are happy now that the Govt.had decided to rise the ceiling to Rs 3500- to CG Employees as per the amended Bonus Act.However the issue of 60 days cap to the Postal Employees remains unsettled.While railways are getting increased Bonus days every year,our's stand stagnated at 60 days.By reduction of more than 30% of staff during the last 5 years or so,we should be eligible for atleast 90 days Bonus.Will the Dept.have the minimum courtesy to tell the actual days of Bonus eligible,leave alone removing the cap?-Muralidharan,Erode
