Dear colleagues,
At the out set I may convey my happy New Year greetings to all.
I have already conveyed the details of the discussions held by me with Shri.P.K.Gopinath Committee constituted to examine the implementation of recommendation of R.S.Natarajamurthi Committee, on 18.12.08 on the basis of our Second memorandum. It was assured by them that their report would be submitted to the Department of post’s by the end of December 08. But the same has not been submitted till date (6.1.09). We are exerting pressure to persuade them to submit the report without further delay. We are eagerly waiting for the details of the recommendations.
Discussions held with Secretary [p], GDS commission by General Secretaries
It is given to understand that Department wants to hold discussion with Federations again on 13.1.09. The details of this discussion will be conveyed to circle unions immediately after the discussion is over.
The Proposed indefinite strike by Left sponsored confederation

01. The strike date was unilaterally decided by the confederation and the same was declared with out consulting us.
02. The strike is politically motivated and not motivated by the earnest desire for achieving the legitimate demands of the employees.
03. There is no scope for any hope in the success of the strike due to the alarming number of demands. 04. There is not even a possibility for a discussion.
05. The demands of GDS are given a push back.
05. NFPE GDS union it self has protested against this step motherly attitude of NFPE and confederation.
06. GDS employees belonging to NFPE GDS union. Will not participate in this strike to protest against the indifferent and non-cooperative attitude of Departmental employees belonging to NFPE in the recent strike from 17.12.08.

09. Secretary [P] has decided to hold discussion again on 13.1.09.
10. Discussions regarding implementation of GDS committee is progressing.
11. This strike is inopportune on the basis of the assessment mode by the NUGDS regarding the progress made in the discussions so far.
12. Political pressure and Union level discussions with the appropriate forums are going simultaneously.
13. FNPO is of the view that we will go for strike only if the discussions do not become successful
