The CGM PLI has invited EOI,Expression of Interest for the counterparts of PLI with a last date to submit the EOI by 24.2.2011 vide letter no 29-23/2010-LI dated 14.1.2011 .In the letter it was said that the department of Posts was approved with “long term strategy for Life Insurance business of Department of Posts"
The objective of calling EOI is
1. Analysis of Insurance market
2. In-depth study of insurance operations
3. Identify core strengths of PLI
4 developing the long term strategy of life insurance business in the DOP
The full text of the letter can be downloaded from the DOP website which is available. No counterpart of PLI would like to take such hasty decision to submit report since it is an equivalent to death sentence to them.
Nevertheless, the department should have been called for such opinions from the unions instead and before going to open market.
The NUPEGC/FNPO will discuss with the counterparts and form the strategy.
May I request all concerned involved in the field to kindly comment on this urgently and have a dialogue with your counter parts in the union and submit views , the idea behind such proposals may lead to you a downsizing of the staff.
Also, the department wants to do favor to the Direct Agents instead of encouraging the Departmental staff.
