in banks all the employees of different unions have different policies but they struggle in unity and all the unions participate in which ever strike call given by their unions without any partiality. but why it is not possible in postal dept. please think, act clever to fight against the administration.

Time is ripe now to re-look at our age-old way of functioning and re-shape our trade-union schemes.

I think you are supporting to the government policies. Now, the Central Government Employees Fedaration is surving the notice to the Government for 12.12.12 strike. But, why you are not participating. Whether you have no demands or all the postal departments demands were fulfilled. Please take immediate step or we are going to leave your NUPE union.
Thank you for reacting. I don't think that hiding behind the veil of being "anonymous" to avoid disclosing the identity would benefit much whichever union you owe your allegiance to, be it NAPE or AIPEU, unless you come out in the open! I am afraid that I have failed to hammer home the real idea and message of not going on strike whichever union or party calls it. My questions raised in my earlier post are not addressed at all by the learned "Anonymous". I being a common and ordinary postal employee as well as an ordinary Indian, do strongly believe that we have already had enough of the politics of bandhs and strikes, by whatever name you people call it. That simply my not supporting a worn-out cause of striking works on any given pretext has equated me a supporter of government policies is a well-known and popular way of blasphemy and character assassination, much favourite with the leftists. I suppose, you too are not any such! If those at the helm of affairs giving a call of the ensuing strike like on previous occasions were really true to their conscience would perhaps not have fashioned a charter of demands with a mishmash of numerous items, similar to the menu chart of a renowned restaurant. Strike is the last weapon of the working class. Demands should be specifically one or two and related to what is terminally destructive and killing for the employees which surely is not the case here. With so many injustices and irregularities taking place every day around, be it in our department or in the society at large for which we are much worried as we usually show ourselves off, there won't be a single day left out in a year when there would not be any bandh or cease-work, as it were. Got it my dear 'anonymous" friend? So, please, come out of your cloister of anonymity and start fighting against the rigidity of politics and lure of get-more through striking works with such nauseous frequency.
However, I appreciate that you are actually concerned with the very issue of whether to go on strikes or to not. Our opinions may differ, but threats to leave NUPE is not in a good taste and quite childish, perhaps. If tomorrow, for example, NFPE stops resorting to strikes(though an impossible proposition), on similar financial demands, where will you then look to for fighting? Which union will you then switch over to?.......Just think......
BECAUSE OF 50% OF THE CENTRAL GOVT. SERVANTS NOT PARTICIPATED IN THE STRIKE WITH THE VIEW LIKE YOU, NOW THE GOVT HAS AGAIN TAKEN THE POLICY OF ABOLITION OF POSTS AND IN POSTAL DEPT 17000 VACANCIES ARE ABOLISHED. THIS IS THE NON STRIKE RESULT. NOW TALK AND SETTLE TRY BETTER.
