Subject: Revision in Interest Rates of Small Savings Schemes w.e.f. 1^st April,2014

            

The undersigned is directed to say that vide its OM No. 6-1/2011-NS. II dated 04.03.2014 Ministry of Finance (DEA) has revised interest rate of small savings schemes from 1^st of April, 2014. Detail about old and revised rates is given below:-

2.         These revised interest rates will be applicable on the new investment made on or after 1.4.2014 in ll schemes.

3.         Maturity tables of RD will be circulated as and when notified by min. of Finance.

4.         This is for information of the field staff as well as general public.

5.         This issues with the approval of Competent Authority.

Subject: Clarification regarding colour scheme for newly constructed and rented buildings.

            This is regarding colour specification for all newly constructed Post Office buildings & staff quarters. Recently, a meeting regarding review of the progress of constructing ATM Rooms was held on 29/1/2014 under the Chairpersonship of Secretary (Posts).

2.         in the meeting, it has been decided that all the new Post Office buildings & staff quarters including ATM rooms being constructed should conform to the “Project Arrow post office specifications” colour scheme for exteriors and interiors, as detailed in Project Arrow Blue Book”. Any deviation in the colour scheme needs to be got approved from Postal Directorate.

3.         now, onwards all rented premises & buildings need to be got painted/ colour washed by landlords as per specification decided for project Arrow post Office and all FRAC minutes & agreements need to be got modified accordingly to improve our brand image & identity.

4.         Further, it is pointed out that no special attention if given for providing sufficient space for public in the newly constructed post offices. While examining the SOA of approved new post office project, the area to be provided for ‘Public hall’ according to the proposed counters of the post office is to be included in the total area of the SOA. This needs to be adequately examined at the time of approving schedule of accommodation to make our building more customer friendly.

5.         Accordingly, it is requested to adhere to the above instructions invariably.
