Sub: Age relaxation for appointment 0f
widows, divorced women & women judicially separated from their husbands and
who were not remarried.
I am directed to refer to your letter
No. P/4-3/Recruitment dated 12.03.2014 on the above mentioned subject.
2. The
case has been examined DOP&T O.M> No. 41034/1/2014-Estt(D) dated
30.01.2014 provides that the “age relaxation for appointment of widows,
divorced women & women judicially separated from their husbands and who
were not remarried allowing age concession upto the age of 35 years ( 40 years
for member of SC/ST) for the post of Gr. ‘C’ and erstwhile Gr. ‘D’ filed
through “Staff Selection Commission (SSC)” and “Employment Exchange”. The
present PA/SA DR Examination is through open competition by inviting
applications from the eligible applicants and it is not through Staff Selection
Commission or through employment exchange. The RRS for PA/SA provides the age
limit between 18 to 27 years only with 5 years relaxation for SC & ST. Therefore,
the Age relaxation for the category of candidates mentioned in ytour letter
would not be extended since the OM is very clear about its extension to Recruitment
made thorough SSFC/Employment Exchange.
3. This
issues with the approval of Competent Authority.

Sub: regarding reporting death cases
promptly to this office.
I am directed to refer to rule 676f of
Postal manual Vol. II wherein it has been stipulated that whenever any unusual
or important occurrence affecting the Department or any member or employee of
it or other property of the Department takes place it should once be reported
by Telegram/E.Mail/Telephone to the Director-General and head of the Circle by
the responsible officer concerned.
2. But
it has been noticed that the Circles/Regions are not following the above
instructions properly by reporting the death cases promptly to this office.
3. It
is therefore; requested that in future please ensure that the death cases
should be reported to this office promptly.
4. This
issue with the approval of competent authority.
