Happy Lohri  wihes, Quotes This festival is celebrated in the month of Paush or Magh, a day before Makar Sankranti every year. Lohri fest is an occasion to engage in revelry and make peace. The festival is all about starting with families and thanking god for all the prosperity bestowed. Fires are lit on the day and all family members and guests move around the Lohri fire and throw puffed rice and popcorns into the fire along with sweets. And this is followed by Punjabi Gidda and Bhangra (popular dance forms of Punab) to the beats of the Dhol music instrument.
