Nation wide protest on 22nd May 2020.
Dear Colleagues,
The retrograde anti-worker policy and it's enforcement unilaterally by the Goverments has assumed its worst form and 8 state governments(Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Odisha, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Bihar and Punjab) have enhanced the daily working hours from eight hours to 12 hours through executive order in violation of the Factories Act, taking advantage of the lockdown situation.
Coming to the issues of Postal Department CSC are being launched on war foot basis and this is nothing but a sign and the first step towards privatization. Whereas Bank and Health Department employees who worked during lockdown period are getting incentive and other benefits without any reduction in salaries our department is not defraying the travel expenses by making our own arrangement s. But our DA release has been put on hold with cumulative effect for 18months is totally arbitrary and shows the attitude of our Goverment on the well being of workers who performed their duty as essential service while all other departments are sent to home quarantine or given off in the name of work ar home.
These draconian measures are not only to facilitate more brutal and cruel exploitation of workers ignoring their rights for collective bargaining , dispute over proper wages, safety at work place and guarantee of social security etc., All our fought out rights and previleges are withdrawn forcibly pushing the working classes to state of slavery and brutal exploitation. in the interests of more profit. All these despicable measure are being pursued in the name of overcoming the economical crisis due to lock down in the wake of covid 19 . It is an apathy towards the working class , and in particular women and weaker sections are bound to succumb to exploitation in terms of the forced labour.
In this background, to begin with, the joint platform of Central Trade Unions has decided to observe nationwide protest day against the anti worker and anti people onslaughts of the government on 22nd May 2020. Consequently our FNPO which stands always to protect the rights of employees also given a call to make the CTU call a grand success.
The demands include, immediate relief to stranded workers for safe reaching to their homes, food to be made available to all, universal coverage of Ration distribution, ensure wages to all of the lock down period, cash transfer to all unorganized labour force(registered or unregistered or self employed), withdraw DA freeze to central government employees & CPSEs and DR freeze to pensioners, STOP privatization and stop surrendering of live sanctioned posts.
Hence it is requested all to to observe Nation wide protest Day on 22.5.2020 by wearing black badges and also hold Gate meetings with social distancing.
