Govt.Job not assured if name in merit list. -

The Supreme Colurt on Wednesday ruled that candidates competing for government jobs do not have inherent right to get selected even if their names figure in the merit list or the wait list.  A bench headed by Chief Justice K.G.Balaksirhsnan gave the direction while dismissing a plea of aspirants who had moved the Supreme Court claiming their right of appointment because they had been selected in the merit list of Delhi higher judicial services.
