PRESENTATION TO THE UNIONS WAS GIVEN BY THE TECHNOLOGY WING OF THE DEPARTMENT ON 23RD NOVEMBER 2010.THE SECRETARY, MEMBER (TECHNOLOGY) AND OTHER OFFICERS OF THE DIRECTORATE WERE PRESENT.FNPO WAS REPRESENTED BY THE SECRETARY-GENERAL AND GENERAL SECRETARIES.
SALIENT FEATURES
1.2223 Double handed offices,10943 single handed offices(554 already computerized) and 129497 EDBOs will be computerized in the Phase -2
2. Project approved for the above offices establishment of IT infrastructure development of required software applications with an outlay of Rs 1877.2 crore recommended by the EFC
3.The IT solutions include Rural ICT, Web Portal for E-commerce, Mobile banking, ATMS, Call centre ,Mail & Retail Operations ,Postal Banking, PLI,HRMS & Pay Roll, Finance & Accounts,
4. The Devices identified for the programme according to the need of the offices Note Books, Handset computers,Moble Phone, Thermal Printers,2D imager, Smart Card Biometric Scanner
5. Efficient services to the citizens through tracking of accountable articles,Streameline Mail process, Utility bill Payments, Phone top-ups, Rail ticket Booking, Delivery of social security services like MGNREGS, Money order and money transfer SMS confirmation of successful transfers, Improved banking solutions, Expedited distribution of Insurance Policies to the rural customers,Personalized smart cards for policy holders .
The staff side welcomed the proposals of modernization and expressed the doubts of changes in the status of offices and officials and their mobility due to the online accounting systems and the existence of HOs DAP etc.The secretary assured to have regular dialogue if the interests of staff are effected.
